Wat Xieng Thong is a Buddhist temple by the Mekong river. It used to be a place where the crowning of Kings took place. The temple is delicately decorated, with a 3-tier roof and a carved, gilded door as entrance to the main chapel. At the back of the temple is a mosaic of a flame tree (Tree of Life) on colored glass. It is a popular tourist attraction.
