More than appreciating the architecture, it is usually the unfading faith of the parishioners that can be appreciated when visiting these churches. Church days for them can get crowded and humid.
Manila Cathedral - It may not be as majestic as the cathedrals of Europe and is not the original aged structure of 1581. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothings as they are a bit strict with shorts and sleeveless tops.
Quiapo Church Friday is the day of devotion for the Black Nazarene when the church gets crowded. Another day of course would be Sundays, when families attend mass and later loiter around at the stalls and market nearby. It is open from 6 a.m. to noon time and 2 pm-8pm daily. Location is Quezon Boulevard.
Baclaran Church Wednesday is Baclaran Day when people crowds the church as they pay homage to the image of Lady of Perpetual Help. Masses are said one after the other from morning to noon then afternoon to evening.
San Agustin Church - One of the oldest standing church in the country and has been spared during the WWII bombing of Intramuros. Opens only from 7 a.m. - 7:30 am and 5pm-6pm daily. Location is at Calles Gen Luna and Real Manila 1002. Has also a museum showcasing some historical church vestments and altar items. Museum is open 9am to noon & 1pm-5pm daily. Overview
Santo Domingo of the Dominican order of the Catholic Church. It was formerly in the walled city of the Intramuros but was rebuilt in Quezon Avenue, Q. C. when it got destroyed during the bombing.
Bamboo Organ Church - has been standing since 1832 and had become famous for the bamboo organs. The church is located in Las Pinas, outskirt of Manila.
Antipolo Church - had become famous for its image of the Virgin Mary which dates back to 1626 and originated in Mexico.
Iglesia ni Christo - many have been awed by the majestic structure of this church. Location is at Commonwealth Ave
