Beach Resorts

Apo Island, Dumaguete can be reached from Manila by plane then taking a cab or rickshaw/tricycle. Speed ferries from Cebu City; Tagbilaran, Bohol; and Siquijor are also available. Apo Island has a marine sanctuary that was well established to protect the aquatic life of the island. Offers more od diving sites than sandy shores although many beaches can be found in nearby areas of Dumaguete.


Bantayan, Cebu - Santa Fe beaches are famous with many budget lodging offering basic amenities. Marlin Beach Resort although not that classy and luxurious undoubtly offers more room space, better service and relative proximity to shops.


Boracay, Aklan- world famous and perhaps the most developed beachside in the Philippines with ATM machines close by. A great venue, specially during semestral breaks of October and summer, for those who love parties and crowds.


Guimaras Islands - Lemon Island and Naragao Island have been the popular ones although the entire island triggered with beautiful and clear beaches. Also has a Trappistine monastery offering accommodation for those seeking solace and peaceful atmosphere.


Malapascua, Cebu - a chance for a lot of privacy and solace with less to offer than basic. Most places are still under developed and electricity does not run all day and all night long is it comes only from generator. Well it is also a reduction in the cost although even with the more developed can still be considered inexpensive. Dano's resort are one of those with 24 hour electricity and water supply.


Panglao, Bohol - its seas are a treasure chest of marine life good for snorkeling or diving and some served as exotic cuisine. Alona Beach is the famous resort although many other white sandy shores are within the neighborhood. The underground Hinagdanan Cave in nearby town of Dauis is also popular for its freshwater lagoon. Bohol is also famous for its Chocolate Hills. Fast sea crafts from Cebu takes about an hour to Tagbilaran and Alona can be reached by taxi for about $10.


Other Attractions

Palawan - although counted among the province of Luzon, Palawan is geographically closer to western Visayas and other tip of the island is a short distance to Borneo of Malaysia.


Dumaguete - A great destination for those who love sea life. Tourists can enjoy a day of dolphin watching. It is also known as the City of Smiles and City of Gentle People so you can expect friendly people in there.
