Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng is located north of Vientiane and to the south of Luang Prabang. The place is mainly a backpackers attraction. There are many tourist facilities in the area such as bars and internet cafes. It is rather popular for tubing in Nam Song river and a place for a good and relaxing drink of Beer Lao. Its market may sell uncommon animals for food, such as monkeys, rats and bats.

Shopping Spree
Vang Vieng is for the most part a get-out-and-have-fun area. Souvenirs may be found but tourist shopping is currently not a strong attraction of the area. Most daily necessities can be found at the local market, 2 kilometers from central Vang Vieng.
