The Royal Palace of Phnom Penh

Based on its richly decorated architecture of gold and gems, one cannot judge Cambodia as a rather poor nation. The Palace has been built since 1813 and had served as the home for Cambodian's royalty. Aside from the interesting architecture which basically reflects Khmer tradition and religion, the grounds also offer some good view.


Open Hours: 7:30am-11:00am, 2pm-5pm Tuesdays-Sundays

Fees: US$6 extra charges for bringing photo cameras and video at US$2 and US$ 5 respectively. Please note areas in which taking of photos are not allowed. Admission is only allowed in the Throne Hall and Silver Pagoda and the surrounding grounds.

Note: Please observe proper decorum and dress code when in the premises. No hats allowed, and clothing should cover shoulders and knees. If you want to send personal greetings to the king, you may drop your letter in the mailbox on St. 240, southside of Palace.
