• Don Mueang International Airport - the old Bangkok Airport. Formerly recieved the international flights but was replaced by Suvarnabhumi Airport. It was closed but then reopened last March 2007 to cater to non-connecting domestic flights.

• Waterways

Some areas of Thailand are accessible through rivers or canals. However, this option is good if you want a tour of the backwaters. If you want to reach certain destination faster, it is better to take a bus. The islands are reached by ferry boats.

• By Land

Railways

Buses

Most regions and provinces of Thailand are connected to Bangkok and can be reached by buses. Here are the major bus terminal:

• Southern Bus Terminal, west of the city in the Thonburi area- For destinations in the southwest and the west

• Eastern Bus Terminal at Ekkamai - For destinations in the southeast, such as Pattaya, Ko Samet and Ko Chang,

In the urban parts of Thailand, a major vehicle used is the Tuk-Tuk. Named after the sound it makes, it is an auto rickshaw or cabin cycle. It has roof and sidings but still you are exposed to the city pollution so it is not advisable to asthmatics. Price is negotiable and should be bargained before the start of the ride. It can start at 10 THB but is not to exceed 50 THB.
