The Royal Chitwan National Park has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984 and is the oldest national park of Nepal. Rich in flora and fauna, it is a refuge of the endangered Indian rhinoceros as well as the Bengal Tiger. A wide variety of animals can also be found in the park.

Activities:

  • Canoeing
  • Elephant rides
  • Jungle trekking

Getting there: There are many ways to get to the park. It may serve as an adventure itself. An example of this is to go on a river trip in Pokhara through the Seti river. Driving from Kathmandu or Pokhara while enjoying the changing scenery is also a good idea. Flying to Bharatpur or Megauli and traveling to the park from there is another option.
