Because Yangon or Rangoon was a capital for a long time, during the British years of conquest and years after when Myanmar or Burma then, was liberated and remained under the rule of the military junta, most development have been focused in it. Even the religious development is far greater in Yangon and evidence can be seen in the numerous pagodas, temples and stupa.
