Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque - aside from its humongous structure and the valuable materials used in its construction, this mosque is also famous as landmark of Bandar Seri Begawan as it is named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei. Non-Muslims are allowed to go inside during non-prayer time provided that they observe proper respect and decorum. A walk around the grounds will allow one to light the barge at the man-made lagoon.


Open Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m., 4:30-5 p.m. Saturdays to Wednesdays

4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Location: along Jalan Stoney. The structure is huge and won't be missed by anyone in the city centre.

Admission: Free



James 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque - known locally as Kiarong Mosque, it is the largest in Brunei and was dedicated to the 25th years of reign of the Sultan. Aside from the magnificent golden domes, the mosque is set on wide and well landscaped gardens with fountains.
