It is often a major entry and exit point for tourists wanting to enjoy the other islands of the country. Some remains of Spanish era can be seen in the old structures like Intramuros and some churches.

Dining Places

Aristocrat- Known for chicken barbecue but offers a lot of variety of Filipino food. It is located in Roxas Boulevard corner San Andres Street, Manila, CA 1004. There is also a branch in SM Mall of Asia.


New Bombay Restaurant - For a taste of authentic Indian cuisine. There are two branches, one on Dela Costa St., Salcedo Village, Makati and another at Wilson St., San Juan.


Mall of Asia - has a huge variety of restaurants and fast food chains serving Asian to Western cuisine. If you feel like enjoying some sea side breeze, many restaurants line the marina side. Some cheap but good food to try are in Tokyo Cafe, Pupung and Friends, French Baker, Guilley's, Superbowl.


Lydia's Lechon - specializes in roasted pig, locally known as lechon and other Filipino cuisine. Several outlets are in Manila, 8 of which are in SM foodcourts (Manila, Megamall, Bacoor, SouthMall, North Edsa, Sucat, and San Lazaro).
