Malaysia Airlines, formerly known as Malayan Airways, was founded in 1947. It is the national airline of Malaysia and it operates domestic, international and chartered services. It is not part of any alliance but it has codeshare agreements with 25 airlines, some belonging to different alliances. It is one of only six airlines in the world to have been awarded a 5-star rating by Skytrax.
