Brunei History Centre - established in 1982 to research more of the history of Brunei. One of the special features is the genealogy and history of the Sultans and Royal Family of Brunei.

Hours Open: 7:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m., 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays, Saturdays

Location: City Centre


Istana Nurl Iman - the royal residential palace of His Majesty which is one of the most stylish and most expensive in the world. Golden domes and a riverside setting makes the palace a wonderful theme for photos and posters.

Time Open: during Hari Raya. The palace is closed to the public on other days.


Bumbungan Duabelas or the House of Twelve Roofs- a former British residence constructed around 1906 and is currently used by the government in receiving dignitaries and as venue for some cultural performances.


Location: along Jalan residency


Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium - aside from being home to Brunei's athletes and a favorite hangout of joggers, it also houses the Sport Medicine and Research Centre. Close by are three other sports complexes, the International Tennis Centre, the International Swimming Complex, and the Practice Track and Field Complex.

Hours Open: 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Location: 5 kms from city centre


Brunei Arts and Handicraft Center - showcases and sells several handmade crafts such as jewelries and artifacts. Complicated designed sarongs which has threads of gold and silver are woven here.

Hours Open: 7:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. other days aside from Fridays and Sundays. Otherwise, it is open 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. on said days.
