You will see them almost everywhere. Below are some known ones


  • Lamai Beach
  • Chaweng Beach - great beach with great sands and is known to many so can be crowded at times
  • Bo Phut
  • Ko Phangan - hold Full Moon Parties on its shore

Amari Palm Reef Resort - Recommendable for its consistent positive reviews, spacious rooms, prompt service, picturesque surrounding and proximity to Chaweng Beach.


Le Royal Meridian Baan Taling Ngam - Great for people looking for seclusion but at the same time enjoying luxury.


Big John Beach Resort

Three and Two Stars

Amarin Victoria Resort Samui - Inexpensive and well worth the price.

Como Resort Samui

Al's Huts Basic accommodation and close to happenings in the beach so can get pretty noisy with parties around the area.

Embassy - a relatively new budget lodge that offers beyond what usual budget lodges offer. Rooms have hot shower and even DVD player.

Other Sights to see

  • Big Buddha Temple- located at Ban Bangkrak Village, near Bophut. Though there are several statues around the area, the most appalling and draws much crowd for picture taking is the Nig Buddha.
  • Waterfalls - in Namuang. There are also elephant treks towards the falls
  • Wat Khunaram - famous for its mummified monk. Located between Lamai and Chaweng, on the 4169 Ring Road
  • Samui Aquarium & Tiger Zoo - there are tanks containing fishes including sharks, and some turtles. In cages are tigers and birds. Location is in South Lamai Beach in the Baan Harn Village.
  • Butterfly Garden- Located on the south east part of the island in Na Tian, opposite the Central Samui Village in 4170 Rd.
