A good break from all the temple visits, Jim Thompson's House provides a house and museum guided tour. However, it still gives a sort of temple-like serenity. The owner, an American who had revived the Thai Silk Industry, had been reported missing in Malaysian jungle since 1967. The house which is actually a complex of six Thai-style teak house was completed in 1959. It is home to numerous Thai and Asian arts and artifact collection of Mr. Jim Thompson.
