Here are the some hotels that had made a name through all the years of experience and numerous hotels carrying their banner. Service and standards are variable though. - Backpackers' Option - Some hotels or hostels can go sloppy at a low price especially if they are found in the heart of the city. Youth hostels abound and often provide minimal comfort for tired travelers. Sometimes if your trip will make you go to different places, it is better to stay in hourly hostels or motels and ask for overnight rate. Although they usually have ill-reputations, some are not so bad.
Bed and breakfast style also offer a good choice and those that are run by the family often share a closeness with their clients that adds a personal touch and a homely atmosphere.
The cheapest accommodations are usually found in China, as low as $6 per night, but some in unknown corners of the countryside. Though cheap, you may have to spend a bit of time and money in travel to tourist spots.
The search is still on for the best cheap places to lay a backpacker's head.
