This city of Vietnam rose from the lagoon and marshes of the Red River Delta. Despite being a capital of Vietnam after its liberation in 1954, some parts remains laid back with some provincial town atmosphere. Central Hanoi is however catching up with modernization and has several hangouts, cafes, and lodges. In addition there are historical sites in the city which dates back to several years ago.
