Although quite limited in space for expansion, this capital city continues to draw visitors to see its grands mosques, rainforests and national parks, and the historical traditional houses on stilts. Much of the original structures though had been damaged to the point of being useless during the WWII when it was bombed by the Allied forces.

Sights to See
- Water Villages or Kampong Ayer is the community on stilts located adjacent to the capital of Brunei. These villages had been around for more than a thousand years and had been well supported by the government as it had facilitated the construction of schools, clinics, mosques and police stations. Tourists can opt to take the water taxis or walk planks to move and see around the village.
Shopping Spree
Tamu Kianggeh an open air market by the banks of Kianggeh River where one may find some local handicrafts, fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers.
Yayasan Shopping Complex - a very modern one stop shopping center that was constructed and opened in 1995 upon the initiative of His Majesty. The mall was set to generate revenue for a foundation supporting the welfare of the people.
